
The arrested personnel were identified as Arif Ibne Khayer alias Rifat, a leader, Mohammad Babu Munsi alias Masud Rana, Mohammad Khurshid Alam, Mohammad Omar Faruk, Mohammad Alhaj Miah, Mohammad Helal Uddin, Abul Baset, Mohammad Sujat, Azahar Ali, Mohammad Farhad Hossain and Mizanur Rahman.
DB police also recovered Jihadi books and explosives during the drive at Abdullahpur under Uttara West Police Station, DMP sources said
Monirul Islam, Joint Commissioner of DB police, on Tuesday told reporters at a press briefing at the media centre of DMP that a team of DB (North Division) of DMP and the Lawful Interception Centre (LIC) jointly conducted a drive in Abdullahpur area acting on a tip-off and arrested the 11 suspected JMB members about 8:30 pm on Monday. Police claimed that the detainees in primary interrogation confessed of conspiring to attack VVIP, VIP and different important infrastructures of the country. A case in this connection was filed with Uttara West Police Station.
Meanwhile, a Dhaka court on Tuesday granted a two-day remand for the 11 members of JMB. Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court additional magistrate Alamgir Kabir granted the remand around 3:00pm. Earlier at noon, DB police inspector and also investigation officer of the case Abdur Razzak pleaded for 10-day remand for the arrestees after producing them before the court.
