Bride snatched at gunpoint in N'ganj

A group of miscreants snatched away bride after carrying out attacks on the motorcade of groom at Araihazar in Narayanganj.

At least five persons including the groom were hurt in the attack.

The incident took place at Rosulpur village in Satgram union of the upazila on Friday evening.

Bride's father Abdul Latif filed a complaint with Araihazar thana.

Locals said Subarna Aktar, daughter of Abdul Latif hailed from Satgram union was married to Nadim, son of Zahirul Haque hailed from Rupganj upazila. The marriage ceremony was held on Friday. The groom's motorcade came under attacks on the way to Rupganj from Araihazar on Friday evening.

Officer-in-Charge of Araihazar thana Sakawat Hossain said Subarna could not be rescued yet. Police have been carrying out operations at different places to rescue the bride and arrest the miscreants.
