Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said the BNP-Jamaat alliance had created a reign of terror in the country during their rule through killing people.
“It was Ziaur Rahman who after Khandker Moshtaq Ahmed rehabilitated the killers,” said the PM while addressing a public meeting on Monday. Awami League organized the meeting at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital marking the Jail Killing Day.
Recalling the memory of killings of the four national leaders inside jail, she also lamented, “The killers had not been brought to book, rather they were awarded in various ways. The trail of murderers was halted through imposing an indemnity ordinance.”
On November 3 in 1975, the four national leaders and heroes of country's Liberation War - Syed Nazrul Islam, Tajuddin Ahmed, Captain Mansur Ali and AHM Quamruzzaman- were assassinated inside the Dhaka Central Jail.
The Premier also blamed BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia for carrying out secret killing staying abroad. "She (Khaleda) is hatching conspiracy from abroad and now started secret killings. Writers, publishers and even foreign nationals have been killed."
BNP and its allies damage country's image committing murders at a time when the country is marching towards advancement, alleged PM Hasina.
