The Daily Observer cricket team have tasted their consecutive second win in the Pepsi DRU Cricket Tournament beating bdnews24.com by four wickets with two more balls to spare at the Maulana Bhashani Hockey Stadium on Tuesday.
Winning the toss, Observer skipper Jibon Islam opted to field first. Observer maintained their tight bowling as bdnews24.com scored 78 runs for two wickets in their stipulated six overs. For Observer Mamunur Rashid picked one wicket while another was got run out.
Chasing the target of 79 runs, Observer sealed the victory losing only a wicket.
They stumbled at the beginning as their score was only 23 runs for one wicket in four overs and they needed 56 runs more in twelve balls. The pressure was on Observer but Mamunur Rashid played a stormy innings to confer the victory.
Mamunur Rashid scored unbeaten 43 runs off just 11 ball whacking six sixes and a four.
Mamunur Rashid was adjudged as the Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.
The Daily Observer will face Daily Inqilab in their third match at the same venue on October 29.
