Khulna retain top position, Sylhet taste first win

Khulna retain their top position with 47 points and Dhaka Metro are in second position with 40 points in the first tier after the fifth round of 17th National Cricket League (NCL) while Sylhet secured their first win in this edition on the final day on Tuesday.

Khulna vs Dhaka Metro
Dhaka Metro drew the match against Khulna at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
Though the match ended in a draw Khulna retained their top position while Dhaka Metro are in second slot.
Dhaka started the day with third day's total of 122 runs for five wickets and were all out for 262 runs just before the tea break. So the target was 295 for Khulna in 25 overs.
Abdur Razzak and Mehedi Hasan Miraz grabbed three wickets each for Khulna.
Chasing the target, Khulna scored 84 runs for two wickets in 20 overs. After that both the team accepted the draw.

Sylhet vs Chittagong
Sylhet Division secured their first win in this edition of NCL beating Chittagong by five wickets on the final day at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.
Chittagong resumed the day with overnight 188 for six wickets and set a target of 260 runs in 60 overs for Sylhet as they were packed for272 runs.
Yasir Ali scored the highest 81 runs in the second innings. Rahatul Ferdous grabbed four wickets for Sylhet.
Chasing the target, Sylhet sealed the victory losing five wickets with 7.4 overs to spare.
Sylhet tasted the victory riding on the three half centuries of Imtiaz Hossain (74), Shanaj Ahmed (76) and Zakir Hasan (55).
For Chittagong, Nabil Samad hauled three wickets.

Rangpur vs Dhaka
Dhaka drew the match against Rangpur after being forced to follow on at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra.
Dhaka started the day trailing by 153 runs and ended the day with 247 runs for four wickets in the second innings to draw the match.
Actually three batters Saif Hassan, Raqibul Hasan and Nadif Chowdhury saved the match for Dhaka.
Saif Hassan and Raqibul Hasan played a big role adding 116 runs for the third wicket pair.
Earlier, Dhaka were forced to follow on scoring 276 runs in replay of Rangpur's first inning total of 463 runs.
