Rangpur, Oct 26 : Two Village Police personnel have been deployed to guard the family of Shahadat Hossain Sourav, the boy who was shot allegedly by Gaibandha-1 MP Manjurul Islam Liton.
Sourav returned to his house at Gopalcharan village of Sundarganj Upazila in Gaibandha from Rangpur Medical College Hospital on Monday.
Sundarganj Police Station OC Israil Hossain said, "They have been deployed to guard the house following the SP's order."
"The two local guards will provide them security as long as the family wants," he added.
He also said police would keep an eye on the boy and his family.
After Sourav was shot in his legs allegedly by the MP on Oct 2, his family has been alleging that the ruling Awami League leader's supporters are threatening them even though the MP was arrested on Oct 14.
Sourav told a press conference before leaving the hospital on Monday: "I want to live long. But I am afraid...will MP Liton and his men let me live? Will they torture my family?"    ?bdnews24.com
