NOAKHALI, Oct 22: Police, in different overnight raids from Sunday night to Monday noon, detained eight people from different places in Begumganj upazila of the district.  
During the drives, the law enforcers also recovered 50 bottles of phensidyl syrup, 20 yaba tablets and one kg hemp from their possessions, officer-in-charge of Begumganj Police Station Golam Farook confirmed.
