MANIKGANJ, Oct 22: A schoolgirl was raped by a sexagenarian man at Rouha village in Daulatpur upazila of the district on Wednesday night.
The victim is the student of class IV. The victim's mother filed a case with Daulatpur Police Station (PS) at night.
Officer-in-Charge of Daulatpur PS Nazmul Nishat said, rapist Nurul Islam violated her around 10am when she was alone at her house.
She was later admitted to Manikganj Sadar Hospital.


Shitala idol damaged

MANIKGANJ, Oct 22: Criminals damaged an idol at 'Shitala Devi Temple' at Chan Nagar village in Sadar upazila on Tuesday night.
Police and locals said the incident came to light when two devotees went to the temple on Wednesday morning and did not find the 'Shitala' idol in the temple. Later, they found the broken idol in a ditch. On information, police and RAB members visited the spot.
