Bhola : A total of 44 solar power plants have been distributed free of cost among 44 poor gypsy fisherman families in Sadar upazila for improving their living standard.
Three organisations-- World Fish, Bangladesh Fisheries Department and Enhanced Coastal Fisheries (ECOFISH) Project of Coast Trust jointly organized the solar panel distribution programme on the Meghna River Bank in Dhoniya union on Monday.
Bhola Deputy Commissioner Md. Selim Reza as the chief guest distributed the solar panels.
Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Kazi Tofayel Hossion, Dhoniya union chairman M Kabir Hossain and project coordinator of Coast Trust M Mizanur Rahman were, among others, present.
