BARISAL, Oct 18: Two minor children drowned in ponds in separate incidents in Jobsen area and Bakal village in Agailjhara upazila on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Mahin Sarder, 2, son of Abdul Alim, a resident of Jobsen area, and Angkan Das, 2, son of Manik Das, a resident of Bakal village.
Locals said Mahin suddenly fell into a pond adjacent to his house while playing in the area at about 3pm.
In another incident, Angkan also drowned in the village pond in the afternoon.
Monirul Islam, officer-in-charge of Agailjhara Police Station, confirmed the incident.    ?UNB
