Hong Kong University to have Social Business Centre

Hong Kong University will soon set up Yunus Social Business Centre at its campus, according to an announcement made by Vice Chancellor of the university Prof Shen Zu Yao while hosting Nobel laureate Pro. Muhammad Yunus on Wednesday.
Pro. Muhammed Yunus was in China on a six-day tour from October 9, said a Yunus Centre press release on Friday. Prof Shen Zu Yao said the university would be setting up Yunus Social Business Centre to carry out academic and practical programmes of social business.Prof. Yunus addressed a gathering at the Sir Run Run Shaw Hall of the university, which has some 20,000 students.
In his 45 minutes lecture, Prof Yunus detailed his views on how to build a sustainable world emphasizing that the present money-centric world is unsustainable. Following the lecture 1996 Nobel Laureate in Economics Sir James Mirrlees, who is currently Distinguished Professor-at-Large at CUHK, interviewed Prof Yunus on stage to respond to some of the theoretical questions raised in his speech his lecture.
