Mahindra Comviva, the global leaders in providing mobility solutions, will sponsor the youngest FIDE Master of Bangladesh, Mohammad Fahad Rahman. In this regard both parties signed a sponsorship agreement on Thursday.
Under the agreement Fahad will be mentored by the first Grandmaster of South Asia Niaz Murshed.
According to the agreement the company will not only provide a monthly compensation to Fahad, but also bear all the expenses for his participation at the upcoming international chess tournaments, for a period of one year.
Mahindra Comviva will also provide support to Niaz Murshed for training Fahad.
State Minister for Youth and Sports, Sri Biren Sikder was the chief guest of the programme. He thinks if the talented players get enough support Bangladesh will get more Grandmasters.
In his speech he said, "We already have five international chess Grandmasters in the country. If we can provide proper support and training to child prodigies like Fahad, Bangladesh will be able to produce more international Grandmasters. I hope the support from Mahindra Comviva and the training provided by Niaz Murshed will help Fahad to become the next Grandmaster."
Country manager for Mahindra Comviva, Reyad Hasnain thinks Fahad will bring recognition to Bangladesh as he said, "We are very excited to extend our support to young talent like Fahad Rahman. I strongly believe that Fahad will bring recognition to Bangladesh at the international level, as he has the potential to become the next chess Grandmaster of Bangladesh."
