CHITTAGONG, Oct 14: Members of the Department of Narcotics Control and Bangladesh Coast Guard in a joint drive arrested two persons along with 8.6 lakh contraband yaba tablets from the outer anchorage of Chittagong Port on Wednesday. The arrested were identified as Abdul Kalam, 35 and Faridur Rahman, 40. Tapon Kanti Sharma, Inspector of Chittagong Division of Narcotics Department, said the seized yaba pills were brought to Bangladesh from Maynmar using Karnaphuli river route. He said acting on a tip-off, a joint team of the Department of Narcotics Control and Coast Guard conducted a drive in the area around 12:30pm and seized the contraband pills from a fishing trawler.
