PABNA, Oct 9: To ensure peaceful situation during the upcoming Durga Puja, local police administration organised a meeting at police super's office on Wednesday.
Alamgir Kabir, police super (SP) of Pabna, chaired the meeting, while Gonesh Chandra Ghosh, president of Pabna District Puja Udjapan Parishad, Chandan Kumer Chakravorty, president of Pabna district unit Hindu-Bouddha-Christian Oikya Parishad, Badal Chandra Ghosh, president of Pabna Sadar upazila Durga Puja Udjapan Parishad, Proloy Chaki, secretary of Joykalibari Mondir, and Naresh Madhu, journalist, among others, were also present.
All the officers-in-charge of different police stations of the district also attended the meeting.
The SP requested all the presidents and the secretaries of different temples not to use any kind of drug or alcohol and also not to play any kind of music on the temple premises during the festival. He assured them of taking necessary measures to observe the festival in a peaceful environment.
Gonesh Chandra Ghosh informed that the Durga Puja will be held in total 319 Puja Mandaps of the district. Out of these, 51 are in Pabna Sadar upazila including the municipality, 24 in Iswardi, 54 in Sujanagar, 14 in Atghoria, 55 in Santhia, 45 in Chatmohor, 14 in Vangura, 15 in Faridpur and 47 in Bera upazilas.
