Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday said she is ready for any sacrifice to build Bangladesh poverty-free “Sonar Bangla” as it was her father’s dream.

The premier said this while addressing at a reception programme at South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Monday afternoon.

During her speech, she dedicated her Champions of the Earth Award and ICT Sustainable Development Award to the people of the country.

Dhaka north and south city corporations jointly organized the gala reception in PM’s honour for receiving the world`s highest environmental accolade - "Champions of the Earth" - and the International Telecommunication Union`s "ICT Sustainable Development Award". 

Cabinet members, PM’s advisers, senior leaders of the ruling Awami League and its alliance partners attended the function.

On September 27, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received the award in recognition of Bangladesh`s far-reaching initiatives to address climate change.
