After receiving the copies of the Supreme Court judgments, the International Crimes Tribunal will issue death warrant for the condemned convicts. Then the jail authorities of the government will initiate process for execution.
After getting the warrants, the jail authorities will read it out to the convicts.
However, the convicts can seek review of the apex court verdict within the next 15 days.
Attorney General Mahbubey Alam said the defence will be able to file petitions seeking review of the order by 15 days of the release of the full verdict.
"But the state will not sit idle by this time. It would take the process of executing the order, forward and when the defence files the review plea, the process would be suspended," he said.
Once their review petitions are resolved and their death sentences upheld, the war crimes convicts will have the opportunity to seek mercy from the President and meet family members.
If they are denied pardon or if they decline to appeal, the government will execute the convicts through the jail authorities.
