The Seventh Five Year Plan is going to be placed in the National Economic Council next month, officials said.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has already given her consent to the final draft and ordered to place the 2015-16 to 2019-20 plan to the NEC meeting.
The General Economic Division (GED) under the planning commission has prepared the draft which projects GDP growth at 8 per cent in the year 2020.
The draft plan says the government wants to reduce extreme level poverty within next five years, improve climate change disaster management and increase foreign direct investment with more local private investments.
Dr Shamsul Alam, Senior Secretary in the GED, said as per direction of the Prime Minister, "We are going to place the draft in the coming NEC meeting in October."
He said a lot of development activities have been added to the next five year plan with considering achievements of the existing five year's mid- term review.
