6 killed in Gopalganj road crash

Gopalganj: At least six people were killed in a head-on collision between a microbus and a human-hauler at Shibpur on Gopalganj-Kotalipara road in the district on Saturday morning.

The incident took place around 10:15am that left four other people injured.

The deceased were identified as Khokon Sikdar, 45, his mother Katebunnesa, 70, wife China Begum, 40, son Shakib, 17, daughters Eneya, 16, and Eti, 7, and Easy-bike driver Delwar of Teligati village in the upazila.

Officer-in-charge (investigation) of Sadar Police Station Selim Reza said the accident took place around 10am at Shibpur, leaving six
passengers of the three-wheeler dead on the spot and five others injured.

One of the injured died on the way to hospital while four others were admitted to Gopalganj 250-Bed Hospital.

Gopalganj sadar fire service station master Niamul Huda confirmed the matter.
