Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu was present as chief guest and handed over the award to Jesmin Akhand and Dweep, on behalf of the singer, at the award giving ceremony.
Prominent singers Khalid Hossain, Papiya Sarwer, and Fakir Alamgir and Nazmul Haque Bhuiyan, the proprietor of G-series and Agnibina, attended the ceremony, among others.
Earlier, prominent singer Lucky Akhand underwent a successful lunge surgery at Phyathai Hospital in Bangkok of Thailand on September 17.
The veteran singer was admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University after he had been diagnosed with lung cancer on September 1. Later on, ailing Lucky Akhand was flown to Bangkok as his health condition was deteriorated on September 10.
Lucky Akhand is a Bangladeshi singer-composer. He is associated with the musical band Happy Touch. He composed notable songs including Ei Neel Monihar, Abar Elo Jey Shondhya and Amaye Deko Na. He is currently serving as the director (music) of Bangladeshi National Radio Network Bangladesh Betar.
