A suspected dacoit was beaten to death in Komolganj upazila of Moulvibazar district on Monday night.

The dead was identified as--Rezak Miah, 35, son of late Umar Ali.

Local people said, Rezak Miah entered the houses of Kadar Ali and Salim Miah at Sangaon village around 11:30pm.

Hearing the screams of the house inmates for help, local people rushed in and caught Rezak.

Later, they beat up Rezak mercilessly, leaving him critically injured.

He was rushed to Komolganj Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared Rezak dead.
