Detectives, in separate drives, arrested five suspected members of a robber gang from different parts of the capital in last 24 hours till Tuesday morning.

Identities of the arrested men could not be known immediately.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) deputy commissioner (media) Muntasirul Islam told media that a team of Detective Branch of Police conducted separate drives in different areas of the capital and arrested the five robbers.

Police also recovered two pick-up vans, three microbuses, one private car and three machetes from their possessions.
