Rajbari: Police arrested an alleged drug peddler in possession of 4,000 pieces of Yaba tablets from Goalanda Bazar Bus Stand area in Goalanda upazila on Tuesday morning.

The arrestee was identified as Ariful Islam,29, son of Abdul Mannan, a resident of Nabagram in Jhalakathi district.

Police said tipped off, a team of Goalanda Ghat Police Station led by sub-inspector Rakibul Islam conducted a drive in the area and intercepted a bus going to Benapole from Chittagong at about 7:30 am.

The law enforcers arrested Ariful and recovered 4,000 pieces of Yaba tablet from the vehicle.

A case was filed in this connection.
