Chuadanga: In separate drives members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 504 bottles of contraband Phensidyl syrup and wine from Chuadanga and Jhenidah districts.
Director of BGB -6 of Chuadanga Lieutenant Colonel SM Moniruzzaman said, on secret information, a team of BGB personnel led by Habilder Saiful Islam conducted a drive at a sugarcane field at village Khoerhuda Eidgah Moydan area in Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga district around 5am and recovered 504 bottles of Indian contraband phensidyl in an abandoned condition. But none was arrested in this connection.
In another drive camp commander of Serenathpur camp Habilder Abdul Motin launched a drive in Halderpara village in Moheshpur upazila of Jhenidah district around 5:30am and seized 24 bottles of Indian wine. Nobody was arrested in this connection.
Later, the seized Phensidyl and wine were handed over to Chuadanga district Narcotic office, BGB said.
