Members of Police on Monday detained four prospective medical students from in front of National Press Club as they were trying to hold a human chain.
Identity of the arrested persons could not be known immediately.
They were held for attempting to demonstrate demanding cancellation of Friday’s medical admission test results, according to police.
Abu Bakar Siddique, officer-in-charge of Shahbagh Police Station, said the four students were detained as they tried to protest concerning a sub-judice matter.
“A writ petition has been filed with the High Court seeking cancellation of the admission test results. The court is yet to deliver a verdict on the petition which is why none can protest over this,” he said.
Supreme Court lawyer Yunus Ali Akand, filed the writ petition on Sunday.
