Bangladeshi movie to open film festival in Kolkata
The movie grabs three awards

'Gaariwala' will open the NEZ International Film Festival. The film is due to start at the ILid campus ?.Kolkata from September 25. The festival will end on September 24. The movie has already won the Best Film, Best Supporting Actress and Best Child Artiste award at the festival. 'Gaariwala' will also contend in the final phases in three American International Film Festivals. The festivals are Davis International Film Festival, California , USA (September 19 - 26), Jefferson State Flixx Festival, California, USA (September 24-28) and Summer Slam Film Festival, Texas, USA (September 26-27). It has also been shortlisted for the fourth El M?n del Viatge to be held in Barcelona, Spain from September 20 to September 25.
Apart from being premiered in Eid-ul-Adha for the first time in Bangladesh the movie will also make its debut in the small screen on the fifth day of Eid on Channel i at 10.30am.
Ashraf Shishir feels confident that the goal he had set for Gaariwala to take Bangladeshi movie industry before international audience has been attained. He also confirmed that he and Rokeya Prachi the awardee of the Supporting Actress award will attend the NEZ International Film Festival to receive the awards on September 26.
Gaariwala a movie by Impress Telefilm has already visited eighteen different countries to participate in fifty three international film festivals held in fifty three different cities. The movie recently attended the CineRockom International Film Festival running from September 1 to September 7 to become the first Bangladeshi movie to be screened in Hollywood. Not very surprisingly though the epic feature movie also grabbed three major prizes at the film festival. The platinum award for best director, one gold and one emerald award for child actors were won by the movie at the film festival. The 86-min long movie was shot barely within a space of thirty days.
