Mahmudul puts Rangpur in commanding seat

Spinner Mamhmudul Hasan put the defending champions Rangpur on commanding seat over Dhaka Metro after the day one of the first round match of first tier of Walton LED TV 17th National Cricket League at Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra on Friday.
On the day, three more matches were stared at three different venues.  Dhaka Division ended the day with 174 for eight against Khulna at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna.
In the second tier, Rajshahi are trailing Barisal by 283 with eight wickets reaming after packing Barisal for 302 at Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi while Sylhet ended the day with 240 runs for four wickets against Chittagong at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
In Bogra, Winning the toss, Dhaka metro opted to bat first. They lost their wicket at regular intervals. They lost their three top order batsmen within 60 runs. Then Shamsur Rahman and Marshal Ayub added 68 runs for the fourth wicket stand. Though Shamsur Rahman got out scoring 54 runs, Marshal added another 44 runs partnership with Elias Sunny.
Marshal scored 65 runs while Elias was unbeaten with 52 runs. For Rangpur Mahmudul Hasan grabbed five wickets. In reply, Rangpur ended the day with 12 for none.
In Khulna, Mustafiz and Razzak put the pressure over the Dhaka Division batsmen taking three wickets each. Dhaka ended the day with 174 runs for eight in 62.2 overs before rain washed away rest of the day.
For Dhaka Saif Hasan scored the highest 65 runs while Nadif was unbeaten with 35 runs.
In Rajshahi, Sanjamul of Rajshahi took six wickets to pack Barisal for 302 runs. Mosaddek Hossain scored a ton. He got out scoring 122 while Shahriar Nafees scored 75 runs and Sohag Gazi contributed 52 runs.
In replay of the Barisal's first innings total of 302 runs, Rajshahi scored 19 runs for two before it was called a day.
In Fatullah, Rajin Saleh and Ruman Ahmed guided Sylhet towards big total with their respective fifties. Sylhet ended the day with 240 runs for four against Chittagong. Rajin was unbeaten with 72 runs while Ruman remained not out scoring 70 runs.
For Chittagong, Merajul and Nabil Samad grabbed two wickets each.
