Social Welfare Minister Syed Mohsin Ali passed away at a Singapore hospital on Monday morning. He was 67.

The freedom fighter breathed his last at Singapore General Hospital around 10:59am, sources said.

Earlier on September 3, Mohsin Ali had been admitted to the Birdem Hospital in the capital with various complications, including pneumonia and kidney problems. He was kept on life support at the hospital on the same day.

The minister had suffered a heart attack on September 4 while undergoing treatment at the Birdem Hospital. He was flown to Singapore the following day as his condition deteriorated.

Mohsin Ali left behind his wife, three daughters, relatives, party men and well-wishers to mourn his death.

He was elected member of Parliament from Habiganj-3 constituency.
