The embassy in Saudi Arabia says it has no reports of any Bangladeshi deaths in the mishap at Makkah’s Masjid Al Haram.

But it confirmed that at least 40 Bangladesh nationals were among the 154 injured when a crane fell on Friday.
Reached at around 11:30pm, Ambassador Golam Moshi told the injured Bangladeshi pilgrims were hospitalised.
“Three of them are under intensive care. One of them is in critical condition.”
An hour later, the diplomat confirmed that Chand Miah Chowkider, who was said to be in critical condition, stabilised and was likely to be released after a day in the hospital.

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam said in a Facebook post that all of them were being treated at Zayed Hospital.

He added that the first secretary was at the hospital along with the medical team.

“All are out of danger, Alhamdulillah. Hospital started releasing our people after fast aid treatment.
