KHULNA, Sept 7: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has asked the local administration here to send a Project Proposal (PP) for Khulna Marine Academy.
The PM also asked the local MPs, Khulna Divisional Commissioner and Khulna Deputy Commissioner to take effective measures to set up the Academy, the long cherished demand of Khulna people.
The order has come when lawmakers of Khulna -2, 3 and 4 constituencies Mizanur Rahman Mizan, Begum Monnuzan Sufian and SM Mostafa Rashidi Suja exchanged views with the PM at Khalishpur Navy Headquarters (BNS Titumir) in the city on Sunday afternoon.
Khulna Divisional Commissioner Md Abdus Samad, Deputy Commissioner Mostofa Kamal, government officials, AL leaders, among others, were present there.
The PM on Sunday also visited Mongla Naval Jetty for commissioning and inducting five Patrol Crafts (PC) and Khulna Shipyard (KSY) for formally inaugurating keel-laying ceremony of two large patrol craft (LPC).
Lawmaker of Khulna-2 constituency and general secretary of Khulna City AL Mizanur Rahman Mizan, at a press conference today afternoon held at the party office disclosed the matter.
Organized by Khulna City unit AL, leaders of AL and its front organizations were also present.
Expressing satisfaction of PM's successful visit at the industrial city, Mizan said, people from all walks of life expressed their heartiest gratitude by throwing flower petal from the roadside while Prime Minister's motorcade was coming Khulna Shipyard (KSY) from Khalishpur Navy Headquarters (BNS Titumir) on Sunday.
