CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Aug 29: A man drowned and another went missing as a boat capsized in the Mahananda river in Alishahaspur area of Bholahat upazila on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Biltu Sheikh, 55, son of Monir Sheikh, a resident of Bojratek village of the upazila.
Mohsin Ali, officer-in-charge of Bholahat Police Station, said the boat carrying 7/8 labourers of Alihashpur area sank in the river due to strong current in the river at noon. Biltu and Moji went missing after the incident while the others managed to swim ashore. Later, local people recovered Biltu's body from the river.    ?UNB
