Three of a family killed in Jamalpur microbus plunge

JAMALPUR, Aug 29: Three members of a family were killed and four others injured as a microbus plunged into a roadside ditch at Battamor Natunbazar on the Roumari-Bakshiganj road in Bakshiganj upazila early Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Babul,28, a resident of Battala village in Rajibpur upazila, and his wife Shilpi,20 and their 10 months old son Abdullah.
Witnesses said a microbus carrying seven passengers, including the trio, fell into a roadside ditch after its driver lost control over the steering at about 5:30 am, leaving Babul, his wife Shilpi and their son Abdullah, dead on the spot and four others injured.
The injured were given first aid at a local hospital.
On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Jamalpur General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police seized the microbus and arrested its driver Abu Bakar from the spot.
Officer-in-charge of Bakshiganj Police Station Muntasinur Rahman confirmed the incident. A case was filed in this connection.    ?UNB
