RAJSHAHI, Aug 29: A group of local youths set up a digital clock measuring 785 square feet (239 meters) with 17.5 feet height and 44.9 feet width at Kapasia Sardarpara area of Rajshahi city.
They claimed the clock to be the world's biggest of its kind.
The clock was inaugurated here on Friday evening and it can be noticed 10 kilometres from afar.
The youths prepared the device putting in their tireless efforts for the two years.
The clock is now running with 'eclectic digital art software,' made on a bamboo frame with a steel body and 48 bulbs that cost around Tk 2.5 lakh.
While talking to The Daily Observer, chief of the entrepreneurs Akul Hossain Mithu said, "We innovated the biggest digital clock of the world without having any engineering background. Our main target was to place the invention in the Guinness Book of World Records."
After its inauguration, people from different parts of the city are crowding in the area to have a glimpse of the clock.
