Prominent film actress Kobori will cast Sohel Rana alongside her in a new serial directed by her. The serial named 'Abar Ashibo Fire' will be aired on Channel i. First phase of the thirteen episode drama has already been shot. Sohel started taking part in the shooting for the second phase from yesterday in Uttara in the city.
Kobori consented to contribute for 'Abar Ashibo Fire' at the request of Channel i. She selected Sohel Rana in particular in accordance with the sturdy requirement of the drama serial. Sohel noted that the magnanimity Kobori's acting skills needs not mentioning at present times, it is rather her proficiency as a director that Sohel hopes to learn from.
Chittagong born Kobori Sarwar made her debut in the movie 'Shutorang' when she was thirteen. The movie's director Subhash Dutta later acted under Kobori in the movie 'Aaina' in 2004. Kobori is also the first woman to take part in the broadcasts by Radio India. The broadcast was aired as part of campaigns conducted in favor of Bangladesh during the Liberation War of 1971 by expatriate Bangladeshis living in India. Kobori's famous movies are Sareng Bou, Shujon Shokhi, Devdas, Titash Ekti Nodir Naam, Bahana etc. 'Titash Ekti Nodir Naam' is an Indian movie by Ritwick Ghatak and Bahana is an Urdu language movie by Zahir Raihan. Sareng Bou brought Kobori the National award. In her long vibrant career Kobori paired with many flamboyant actors like-Farooq, Rahman, Razzak, Alamgir, Sohel Rana, Ujjal, Wasim, Khan Ataur Rahman, Golam Mustafa, Anwar Hossain and ATM Shamsuzzaman.
Kobori currently serves as an MP from Narayanganj. She is also a human rights activist and was a guest of the US state department for women's affairs and many other international conventions.
Sohel Rana's original name is Masud Parvez. Sohel Rana is also known as Masud Rana for his lead role in the movie released with the same name in 1973. He is also known as the 'Action King' of Dhallywood since he first commenced the career of action heroes in the Bangladeshi film industry. He first acted in the movie 'Ora Egaro Jon' in 1972. He won National Film Award twice for movies- Ojante (1996) and Shahoshi Manush Chai (2003). 'Epar Opar' (1975) is another notable movie that goes to his credit. Sohel Rana was also an active fighter in the Liberation War of Bangladesh.
