Most of the restaurants in the Dhaka city couldn't provide you the healthy and hygienic food for what you are craving for. Chittagong restaurant is exceptional here, maintaining a high standard in offering clean food. Located at Segunbagicha area, its targeted customer is basically the people who are busy with their work at the office. These people always seek hygienic food in order to keep themselves fit amid the hard work and immense pressure at office.
To ensure quality food, they have kept their kitchen open so that the customers get a look at how the food is being prepared for them.
Established in 1952, it is one of the oldest restaurants in this area. Haji Mohammad Ali Akbar opened this restaurant and now his son Ali Asghar looks after the hotel as an owner.
The design and the look of the hotel have changed over the years but the quality of the food remained same. Not only for the official people, but also the general people and student come here to have a chit-chat with the food.
There is a space for car parking.
They only serve the traditional Bangali food like biriyani, tehari, plain rice, vegetables, beef, mutton, chicken, eggs, burger, nan ruti. They also prepare the traditional item like puri, peyajoo, smashed potato, chicken sandwitch and others.
The owner of the restaurant Ali Asghar said traditional Chittagong food like Kala Vuna and yummy biriyani are also served.
You can get the food here at cheap rate-per person for Tk. 50-500. People from all walks of life could have food here.
The specialty of the restaurant is that they serve food at the plate made by stainless steel and serve tea or coffee in mud cup.
They are the first hotel in the country to offer food at sehri time during Ramadan. Now it has been trend in the city.
According to him, people like the restaurant because of its standard since they provide them a neat and clean environment with hygienic food that most of the restaurants in this area are unable to give.
"The people who are conscious about their health and fitness easily like this restaurant if they once visit here. No one has ever complained about stomach bug or other illness after having food here," he said.
