Bangladesh Motor Vehicle Mechanic Federation on Sunday demanded capital punishment of the killers of teenage boy Rakib.
The demand was made from a human chain formed in front of the Jatiya Press Club.
Federation general secretary Anwar Hossain Khokon, its leaders Zahir Ali and Jasim Uddin, among others, spoke on the occasion.
Rakib, a 12-year-old boy, was tortured to death allegedly by his former employers over quitting job in Khulna city.
“The government has to mete out harsher punishment to the perpetrators of the gruesome killing,” Anwar Hossain Khokon said.
He said if the killers are spared, such crime will continue to the tears of mothers.
