SAVAR, Aug 4: A mobile court here on Monday convicted a businessman and sentenced him to one month's imprisonment for trying to rape a government official at Joyenbari area of the upazila in the outskirts of the city.
The convict was identified as Aminul Islam, 35, a small businessman of the area. According to prosecution, Aminul and the victim used to live in separate rented rooms of a house in the area.
On Monday noon, Aminul tried to violate her while she was going to take a bath. But the victim managed to flee away from Aminul in the end. Following the incident, police arrested Aminul from the house and produced him before the mobile court of Executive Magistrate on Monday.    ?UNB
