Couple commits ‘suicide’ in city

A young couple allegedly hanged themselves from the ceiling of their house in the city’s Mirpur area on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Mohammad Farhad, 27, a barber and his wife Rupali, 22.

Informed by locals, police recovered the hanging bodies of the couple, breaking open the door of the house at Lane 5 of Bloc-B, Mirpur-10 around 12 pm, and sent those to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said Inspector (investigation) Shafiqur Rahman of Mirpur Police Station.

“The couple might have killed themselves over a family feud,” said Shafiqur.
