National Central Bureau (NCB) of Police Headquarters has sent a letter to the Interpol Headquarters seeking its cooperation in bringing back Bangladeshi expatriate Quamrul, one of the accused of Samiul Alam Rajon murder, from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
AIG (media) Police Headquarters Nazrul Islam said they sent the letter on Tuesday night.
Through the letter, he said they requested the Interpol to take steps to send Quamrul back from Jeddah.
Earlier on Monday, Bangladeshi expatriates living in Jeddah caught Quamrul and handed him over to local police.
Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon, a 13-year-old son of Sheikh Azizur Rahman of Badeali village in sadar upazila, was brutally tortured to death over a theft at Sundar Ali Market in Kumargaon area of Sylhet city on July 8.
He died of internal bleeding following the torture, said the autopsy report.
Jalalabad police filed a case against four people, including Muhit, his brother Quamrul Islam, 24, their associate, Ali Haider alias Ali, 34, and guard Moyna Mia alias Boro Moyna, 45, in this connection.
