Police recovered the body of a young man, reportedly abducted four days ago, from a drain near Kalshi New Road in Pallabi of the city on Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Momin Boksha, 40, son of late Samad Boksha, resident of block-D of Mirpur Section-12.
Locals spotted his body in a drain at the north side of the Baitul Jannat Mosque near the road around 5:15am and informed the police. On information police recovered the body.
Monwar Hossain Sumon, nephew of Momin said his uncle was abducted along with his driver from Taj Mahal Road of Mohammadpur area in the city while he was returning from his lawyer's chamber on July 8.
Later, the abductors released the driver. Police arrested the driver and remanded him for interrogation.
Dadon Fakir, Officer-in-Charge of Pallabi Police Station, told the Daily Observer on Sunday that Momin was a listed criminal and accused in 25 to 30 cases.
