Four people including wife of Jatiya Sangsad's Whip Atiur Rahman Atique, daughter, one relative and their driver were injured as unidentified truck hit their private car in front of the Radisson Hotel in the city, police and hospital sources said.
Officer-in-Charge of Cantonment Police Station Atiqur Rahman confirmed the accident occurred at about 2:45am early Friday while the victims were returning to their JS dormitories in Dhaka from Sherpur.
Caretaker of the house Lal Mia said that the injured were rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).
The Whip's wife Shanto Noor, 50, was shifted to Pangu Hospital from DMCH while two others -
Rubel, 30 and driver Wasim, 30 - were undergoing treatment at DMCH and Whip's daughter Sadia Rahman Apu, 12, took first aid there.
No case was lodged with concerned police till the filing of the report at 12 noon.
Whip's private car was also partially damaged in the accident, police added.
None could be arrested in this connection.    ?BSS
