The High Court on Wednesday rejected a previous rule issued on a writ petition filed by a group of students and guardians for getting second chance to appear before the Dhaka University’s admission test.

With the rejection, admission seekers would not get a second chance to sit for the admission test at the country’s premier university.

An HC bench of Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Kazi Md  Md Ejarul Haque Akondo passed the order.

Earlier on March 16, the HC, responding to the petition, issued the rule asking why the cancellation of second time chance for appearing before admission test at DU should not be declared unlawful.

At the same time, the HC questioned why directives should not be given for taking new decision changing the existing one.

After passing HSC examination, the admission seekers usually get chance to appear before the admission test twice for DU but the university authorities cancelled the second time chance last year.
