Losing the first T20I of the two-match T20I series against South Africa, host Bangladesh are in a do or die situation as they have no way but win in the second match at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium today (Tuesday) to avoid the T20 series defeat.
Tigers, who are in a good shape in this year will try their level best to win the last T20 to level the series and boost their confidence before going to the ODI series from July 10.
This is for the first time for the Tigers in their last four home series that they will take on their opponent with an equation to save the series.
In the first T20 Bangladesh lost by 52 runs and they are thinking batsmen were responsible for it. So they need a solid start from the top order to level the series. Tamim and Soumya, who have proved their scoring ability in the last couple of series but failed to click in the first match. So Tigers may want them in their own colour in the second match.
After a long time Tigers middle order failed to recover the early damage and led their side. Mushfiq and Shakib got out after being set. Debutant Liton played some scoring shot but he did not get the support as Sabbir and Nasir got out earlier. The batting style of the Tigers seemed they were in hurry so they were playing risky shot. Thus in the last match the host batter should bat according to the plan that helps them to level the series. For the Tigers Shakib is the most experienced T20 players who played all over the world in this format and he need to spread out his experience among his team mate to do better.
The bowling department of the host with Arafat Sunny, Shakib, Shohag, Mashrafe, Mustafiz and Nasir seemed okay in the first match. But their main test will be today to continue the form.
The Proteas have outstanding batting line-up with AB de Villiers, David Miller, JP Duminy and Fuf du Plessis and Rilee Rossouw. In the first match AB de Villiers, David Miller and JP Duminy failed to click but skipper Fuf du Plessis led the tourist with his outstanding knock of unbeaten 79 while Rossouw support him properly.
However, all know that how dangerous AB de Villiers and David Miller are in the shortest format of cricket. So Proteas fans may expect to see the devastating batting of these two.
In the bowling the tourist depends on pacers who made the path of win easy in the first match. They may also want get the similar support for the spinners Aaron Phangiso and Duminy who got three wickets in eight over for only 32 runs.
