Metropolitan Magistrate Shamsul Arefin passed the order after hearing separate bail petitions filed by Mukul and Sithi.
Earlier on June 27, a Dhaka court granted one-day remand for Mukul.
The case statement said, shocked by the death of her only child Chandramukhi on September 16, 2013, Naznin jumped off the varanda of her four-story flat, leaving her critically injured.
Later, the journalist couple planned to have another baby on doctor’s advice. But at that time, Mukul developed an illicit affair with Meherun, alleged Naznin saying, “He even tortured me during my pregnancy as I protested his affair with another woman.”
She also alleged that after the birth of their second child, Mukul did not inquire about the mother and baby.
Naznin claimed that Mukul took money from her on various occasions. Lastly, she gave Mukul Tk 14 lakh for paying installment of a plot at Purbachal. But, Mukul registered the plot in his own name and recently he sold it.
