Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in separate drives arrested four persons and recovered 822 bottles of banned phensidyl and 37.5 kilograms of illegal (current) fishing-net on Saturday, a statement issued on Sunday by the Deputy Director (Media) at the RAB Headquarters said.
A team of the RAB-4 caught Samim Hossain, 22, with 240 bottles of phensidyl and a mobile handset from behind Saudia Bus Counter at Gabtali in Darussalam of the city on 3:00pm.
A team of the RAB-5 recovered 582 bottles of phensidyl dumped at Moharajpur Bazar area under Sadar Upazila in Chapainawabganj.
Another team of the RAB-5 yesterday (Saturday) arrested one Mamun, 35, from Rehaichar under Sadar Upazila in Chapainawabganj.
He was nabbed for producing spices without the approval of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institute (BSTI),
Later, the Mobile Court fined him Tk 50,000.
Another team of the RAB-5 arrested Mizanur Rahman, 35, for the sale of unapproved spices.
He was arrested from Meri Food and Products at Rehaichar under Sadar Upazila of the same district. He was also fined Tk 30,000.
