The government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with two Chinese companies to implement Buriganga River restoration project and Dhaka Eastern bypass construction project.
The MoU was signed between Bangladesh Water Development Board and China national aero-technology international Engineering Corporation (AVIC-ENG) and the 1st engineering Bureau of Henan water conservancy (CHWE) at the Water Resources Ministry on Thursday, said an official release.
Under the MoU, the Chinese companies will conduct feasibility study on Buriganga restoration project and Dhaka Circular Rout Eastern Bypass Project and take necessary steps over financing by the Chinese government in the project.
Water Resources Minister Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud, State Minister for Water Resources Muhammad Nazrul Islam, China Company AVIC-ENG's vice president Weng Zhonglin and CHWE vice president Yang Dong were, among others, present at the signing ceremony. ?UNB
