BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has alleged that her party’s acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is facing harassment over getting bail.

“Although the court granted bail to BNP acting secretary has been granted, the government is harassing him,’ said BNP chief said at an iftar party, organized by Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (Jagpa) at Ladies Club in the capital on Monday.

She said that those who are saying tall talks would not achieve success. ““Neither the country people will forgive them not Allah.”

She further alleged that people are not safe either at home or outside while price hike of essential commodities increases people’s sufferings. But, the government is busy plundering money and securing power, Khaleda added.

BNP-led 20-party alliance leaders, including LDP’s Colonel (retd) Oli Ahmed, Jatiya Party’s (Zafar) Kazi Zafar Ahmed, Islami Oikkya Jote’s Latif Nezami, Khelaphat Majlish’s Muhammad Ishaq and key ally Jamaat-e-Islami’s Aminul Islam, among others, were present at the event.

A special prayer was also offered before iftar.
