The depression over North West bay and adjoining West Central Bay moved northwest wards and crossed Orissa coast between Gopalpur and Puri at 3:00pm on Sunday.
Under its influence steep pressure gradient persists over the north Bay.
Squally weather may affect North Bay, adjoining coastal area of Bangladesh and the maritime ports, Met office said.
Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal no three.
All fishing boats and trawlers over north bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.    ?UNB
