Relief and Disaster Management Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya on Sunday observed that the 20-party combine would not only break down, even the very existence of BNP would not be there.
"Countrymen do not want the existence of any terrorists like the parties in 20-party alliance in Bangladesh. There will be no existence of BNP and its alliance," he said.
Maya, also the Dhaka City Awami League General Secretary, made the remarks while replying to BNP leader Khandakar Mahbub Hossain's claim on Saturday that the 20-party alliance will never break up.
He was speaking at an extended meeting of the city AL held at Bangabandhu Avenue.
He said no national election will take place in the country before 2019.
"It doesn't matter whatever conspiracy and anarchy are committed by BNP-Jammat, the next election will be held under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina," he said.
City AL Joint General Secretary Quamrul Islam said BNP has shown political bankruptcy by committing terrorist acts in the country.
"For their wrong politics, they (BNP) will face extinction soon," Quamrul, who is also the Food Minister, said.
Acting President of City AL MA Aziz presided over the meeting.
