Seven 'wanted' human traffickers held

Cox's Bazar, June 16: At least seven "wanted" traffickers were arrested from Cox's Bazar on Tuesday as police continue to crack down on the criminals behind human trafficking.
The arrested persons were identified as, Shahidul Islam, Zafor Alam, Nazir Ahmed, Zahir Ahmed, Bodi Alam, Farid Alam, and Zafor.
Ataur Rahman Khandakar, officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station told the Daily Observer  that they were all held in a drive in Teknaf upazila's Shah Porir Dwip around 1:30am.
They were all booked under Human Trafficking Deterrence and Suppression Act, 2012.
The alleged traffickers were produced at the court on Tuesday, the OC said.
The court ordered to send them to the jail.  OC said that such drives will continue until further notice.
