Partnership between the government and NGOs can expedite the process of eradicating extreme poverty in the country, speakers at a discussion said in the capital on Sunday.
Bangladesh needs to adopt best practices to eradicate extreme poverty. It is essential to create a consensus on how to choose and scale up the best models for achieving this, they said.
They further said a better policy direction can be obtained if we can develop consensus. A strong link between the government and development sector can be instrumental in ending extreme poverty.
They also stressed on spending more on education and health sectors for providing better services to the people.
BRAC organized the discussion titled 'Eradicating Extreme Poverty: Develop-ment Strategy and Model'.
Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal attended the programme as the chief guest.
